Monroe County Clerk
Attn: Value Adjustment Board Clerk
PO Box 1980
Key West Florida 33041-1980
Dear Clerk:
I would like to apply for the 2010 Value Adjustment Board Attorney Special Magistrate
position. I am a member of The Florida Bar, I have practiced law for 11 years and I meet the
requirements of F.S. 194.015. 1 do not represent the property appraiser, the tax collector, any
taxing authority, or any property owner in any administrative or judicial review of property
taxes. My requested compensation is $100 per hour or whatever compensation is customary for
the County for this position.
I have attached my resume for your review along with my 2010 training certificate. I
have served in the capacity of a VAB special magistrate for the last two years and I am very
familiar with property tax issues. In 2008 and 2009 I was a special magistrate for Hillsborough
County and I have already been offered an appointment for 2010. In 2009 I was a special
magistrate for Pinellas County and an alternate for Pasco County. I have handled numerous
hearings and I am extremely familiar with the legal issues surrounding the establishment, day to
day processes and requirements for the VAB. I have also used Axia extensively.
Thank you in advance for your consideration.
