Key West, FL
A Special Meeting of the Monroe County Board of County Commissioners convened at
10:00 A.M., on the above date at the Harvey Government Center. Present and answering to roll
call were Commissioner Wilhelmina Harvey, Commissioner George Neugent, Commissioner
Mary Kay Reich, Commissioner Nora Williams and Mayor Shirley Freeman. Also present were
Danny L. Kolhage, Clerk; James T. Hendrick, County Attorney; James Roberts, County
Administrator; County Staff, members of the press and radio; and the general public.
All stood for the Invocation and Pledge of Allegiance.
ADDITIONS, CORRECTIONS, AND DELETIONS
There were no Additions, Corrections, or Deletions made to the Agenda.
PRESENTATION, OVERVIEW, AND BUDGET MESSAGE
FOR THE PROPOSED FISCAL YEAR 2001 BUDGET
County Administrator James Roberts made a preliminary presentation to the Board of the
proposed Fiscal Year 2000-2001 Budget. Mr. Roberts indicated that the budget is available at all
of the Monroe County Public libraries and advised that further consideration of the proposed
budget would be held on the special meetings called for July 20 and 24,2000. The Board
accepted public input with the following individual addressing the Board: H. T. Pontin. After
Board discussion, the Mayor called for a Special Meeting in the form of a Workshop to be held
on Wednesday, July 19, 2000 at 3:30 P.M. at the Harvey Government Center for discussions
between the Board and Staff concerning restructuring and changes in the organizational structure
of county government; and further, suspending the Board's administrative procedure's concerning
public input.
There being no further business to come before the Board, the meeting was adjourned.
