applications are rolling in. Artists from previous years will be contacted personally.
Marathon's Community Park reservation has been confirmed, Facebook and Twitter are
running, musicians are confirmed the new logo has been selected, liquor permitting is in
progress.
New for the 17 Annual Art Show will be "The Art of Food," and a sushi roller, cake
roller are booked and the search is on for an ice sculptor.
Other confirmations include garbage and security. The Fire and Police Department's have
been notified and Marathon's Park & Rec Director, Jimmy Schmidt, has explained the
signage and electricity requirements.
Swankey is currently seeking sponsors and patrons.

Artist submissions remain the main focus and the board will need to line up volunteers
for the event.
Executive Director Report
Kelly McKinnon
McKinnon's report began with the news of a generous donation. "A group came down
from Ocean Reef and two guys called me to redo the entire kitchen," McKinnon said.
"New tile, cabinets, tile .... they said they will knock it out top to bottom." He expects the
work to be completed by the end of the year.
McKinnon also said the $10,000 paint project for the paint foreman's house is about to
begin. Old, rotting, termite -ridden wood will be replaced and the entire building will be
repainted to historical values.
The December 11 concert is nearly ready to go. Rachel and Ananda have secured
numerous items for the raffle, the bands are booked, and McKinnon anticipates more than
400 people will visit the island in a single day.
McKinnon's recommendation for rate increases was unanimously approved by the board.
Upon BOCC approval, residents will pay $9 (up 50 cents) while non - residents will pay
$12 (up $1).
