Grinning offers superior roll stiffness using one piece rolled beam design. This limits body lean during a turn keeping the vehicle stable. Reduced spring rite and automatic leveling keep your chassis at designed ride height and gives you a soft, ride regardless of the load. I have included product literature on the AIRGLIDE system for your review, 3.9.4; Southern prefers not to offer the programmable air ride system due to easy accessibility by inexperienced e p rsorenel altering the ride characteristics and possibly compromising the safety of the vehicle, 3.18; Southern complies with each entry with the exception to the push button switches. Southern proposes to furnish standard rocker switches which provide for lower maintenance costs and longer usage life than the push Mutton switches. 3.22; Southern will supply Phoenix wheel covers which meet Ford QVM requirements while the Wheelmas:ters are not Ford QVM approved. 4. 1. 3; Southern proposes to furnish standard rocker switches which Provide for lower maintenance costs and longer usage. life than the push button switches. 4.2.1; Southern proposes to furnish our standard control console which has beer: field proven for over twenty years. 4.3.4; Only machine crimped automotive terminals will be used. This: has proven to simplify field service, repairs and installation. Cannon plugs nor scotch loks will be used in the vehicle. 4.3.5; Southern will provide cold solder terminal connections in lice of hot dipped solder connections as this gives better connection and prevents arcing associated with hot dipped terminals. 4.4.2; The main, wiring harness is definitely recessed and the cover is semi -recessed which complies with KKK-1822C. The cover does riot protrude enough to present a safety hazard. 7. 17. 2, This section asks that the IV hooks be headliner. While it, is recessed into the Possible for us to do this we question the wisdom of trying to hook an IV into a vehicle. A recessed area ina moving hazard is created by an E.M.T. to while attempting thissing balance procedure . 7 . 21. ; Southern would like to of t action wall instead f Provide a one piece stainless steel a the less durable ABS action wall . The stainless steel acorn wall utilizes covers single piece construction and four sides of the action area. The corners will be radiused at, all junctions to prevent the accumulation of potential chemical and bio-hazard materials. Stainless steel will also resist the absorption of these materials while providing a cleaner, sterile working environment. 7.21.5; The Xantech 18" fluorescent, light measures only 15 1/4" long in the Xantech catalog. If a longer unit is available we will supply it at no additional cost. 8.1.3; The same concerns ex res e the p s d in section 7.17.2 regarding recessed IV hooks applies to the rece hasthe ability to install recessed sEed grabut b rail. Southern concerns expressed. by other EMS services we cannot cannotrecorttmened installing one in your vehicle. 5 . 1 ; —D.O.T. marker ll ar,tF• f 1 tF Y n.r.ur.+ed iit#r3 tyre body c DrrrFrf The logic expressed in this requirement, is to prevent, limbs from damaging or breaking lenses. It poses a greater safety hazard by weakening the corner caps which act as a stress relief point if the vehicle is involved in a collision (reference 7.5.5 of your specification). To accomplish wiring of said lights requires the use of an integrated wye corner extrusion instead of a boxed extrusion. The wye is simply not as strong as a box extrusion and compromises strength needed in module construction in case of a 'roll over" accident. Southern proposes to use a low profile clearance light, attached to the module surface below the roof extrusion's drip rail. The drip rail will help prvent damage to the light. 5.7; Southern uses recessed overhead halogen lights manufactured by weldon and approved by KKK-1822r_., 7.5.1; Southern utilizes MIG and TIG welding instead of heli-r'rc welding which is a different, process and aloows for greater heat and Penetration control, thereby, preventing distortion and providing for a stronger weld for this particular application. 7.5.5; Please refer to section 5.1. 7.5.10; Southern builds its raised roof option utilizing'standard stock 1.5" x 4" channel and aluminum flat, stock instead of custom extrusions which might, not, be readily available over time. The roof perimeter and body corner posts we incorporate into our design meet or exceed what is specified in the applicable paragraph. The proposed assembly has been submitted to Atlanta Testing and Engineering and has been certified to meet, or exceed KKK-1822C standards. 7.7; Southern utilizes ten outriggers instead of the eight called out for. We also use 5/8" grade five bolts -three per outrigger - to connect, the module to the chassis. 7.9.4; Southern will provide stainless steel grab handles at each door for easy entry and sterility. 7.10; Southern uses 3" x 1.5" wall "c" channel on models utilizing a plywood floor as this gives more holding power to the attachment screws while using 2" x 2" tube on models requiring aluminum floors. 7.14; Southern utilizes a pre -assembled window with an aluminum frame incoporating built-in rubber gaskets and modern sealants to seal the window to aluminum sides. Using automotive metal molding and rubber gaskets increases the possibility for potential leaks while hastening easy in -field replacement.
