The following tables provide summary information for Monroe County and the incorporated municipalities. Information from the 2000 Census has been included for comparison purposes. The permanent population for the Florida Keys (unincorporated and incorporated) declined by 8% ( -6,499 people) from the year 2000 to 2010. Total housing units increased by 1,147 units or 2 %. The number of occupied units decreased by 2,457 units or 7 %. Vacant units increased by 3,604 units or 22 %.
