RE: 1994-95 ADID Grant Extension Request
Dear Dr. Kalla:
BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS
.T MAYOR, Jack London, Distict 2
Mayor Pro Tem. A Earl Cheal, District 4
Wilhelmina Harvey, Dictrict 1
Shirley Freeman, District 3
Mary Kay Reich, District 5
This letter is an official request on behalf of Monroe County for a one year extension of
the grant to the end of fiscal year 1995 (September 30, 1995). As you know, the mapping
work is about one-third of the way finished and the field work about one -quarter of the
way finished. A one year time extension on the current grant should be enough to allow
completion of the entire project. I have included an updated schedule and list of
deliverables. This schedule anticipates completion of the project by the end of June,
1995. However, we would like the grant extension to run to the end of the fiscal year to
avoid any unnecessary paperwork or hassle should the project run past June 30. The
schedule is as follows:
December 31, 1994 Digitizing of jurisdcitional lines and seasonal high water
lines
February 24, 1995 Digitizing of suitable/unsuitable designations
October 31, 1995 Complete assessment of Lower Keys
atxu
December 31, 1995 Complete assessment of Middle and Upper Keys
January 31, 1995 Compile and deliver KEYWEP results
March 6, 1995 First draft of TSD to EPA (includes background, scope
and methodology)
April 14, 1995 Second draft of TSD to EPA (includes results and
draft maps)
April 28, 1995 Distribute draft TSD for agency comment
May 26, 1995 Produce final draft TSD revised in response to agency
comments
June 2, 1995 Notice and hold public hearing
June 30, 1995 Produce final TSD and maps revised in response to public
comments
This revised schedule includes all of the remiaing uncompleted tasks in the original
scope. As you know, the schedule is partially dependent upon the timely delivery of
products from the DEP and Curtis Kruer, both under contract with EPA. If you have any
questions, please contact Pat McNeese at 305-289-2502.
Sincerely,
James Roberts
