ITEM BACKGROUND Resolution No. 585-2002 was passed to use the uniform ad valorem method for collection of assessments for Municipal Service Culvert District and specifically excluding therefrom Block 19, Lots 1 through 99, per Plat Book 4, page 143; but omitted also excluding certain environmental and access lots which were not included in the computation. This action is' needed to ensure that the Property Appraiser and Tax Collector exclude from the District those lots which are assessed at $50 and those which are narrow (10'wide) strips of land adjacent to Dominica Lane. TOTAL COST BUDGETED Yes No COST TO COUNlY SOURCE OF FUNDS APPROVED BY: County Attorney - OMB/Purchasing 0 Risk Management 0 DIVISION DIRECTOR APPROVAL~ ~~ j.~ DOCUMENTAnON: Included 0 To Follow 0 Not Required 0 AGENDA ITEM # -/ g Board of County Commissioners RESOLUTION NO. -2003 A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF MONROE COUNTY, FLORIDA REVISING RESOLUTION NO. 585-2002, DELETING ENVIRONMENTAL LOTS FOR USE IN THE UNIFORM AD VALOREM METHOD FOR THE COLLECTION OF ASSESSMENTS IN THE BREEZESWEPT BEACH ESTATES SUBDIVISION MUNICIPAL SERVICE CULVERT DISTRICT AND STATING THE REASON THEREFOR BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF MONROE COUNTY, FLORIDA: Section 1. The Board of County Commissioners as the governing body of the Breezeswept Beach Estates Subdivision Municipal Service Culvert District (District) declares its intent to use the uniform ad valorem method for the collection of non-ad valorem assessments as authorized by Sec. 197.3632, Fla. Stat., or ad valorem assessments as authorized by Sec. 200.066, Fla. Stat. The assessments will be levied against non-exempt real property within the District. The District is more particularly described as follows: Breezeswept Beach Estates Subdivision as recorded in Plat Book 4 at Page 143, less the following: Block 19, Lots 1 - 99: Block 2. Lot 68: Block 3. Lot 25: Block 5. Lots 4 and 11: Block 6. Lots 7 and 31: Block 8. Lots 8-10: Block 9. Lot 8: Block 14. Lot 24: and. adjacent to and abutting Dominica Lane. Lots 96A. 97A. 98A and 99A. Section 2. The canal water quality within the District is poor. The levy is needed to finance the installation of a culvert under West Indies Drive and Block 19, Lot 32 of Breezeswept Beach Estates Subdivision, to improve the circulation of water in the canals of the District and hence to improve water quality. Section 3.
