ITEM BACKGROUND: Monroe County declared intent to use the uniform method as set forth in Resos 635--2006, 568-2 7, 515--2005, 463-20 , 469--2010, and 440b-2011. Florida Statute Section 197.3632 specifies that a public Bearing to adopt a resolution of intent to use the uniform method of collection for an assessment program mast be held in the calendar year prior to the collection and sent to the Tax Collector, Property Appraiser, and Department of Revenue by January 10, 2013 or March 10, 2013 if the parties agree. Letters of approval from the Property Appraiser and Tax Collector were requested for BOCC acceptance during the regular meeting on January 16, 2013. The assessments for Stock Island were initially levied in 2004 and the assessments for Big Coppitt and Duck. Key were initially levied in 2007. The Final Assessment Resolutions for the Cudj oe regional Inner Island (Upper Sugarloaf/Cudjoe/Summerland) and Outer Island (Lower Sugarloaf/RamrodiLittle Torch/Big Pine Key) assessments were adopted in July 2012 levying the assessments on the 2012 tax bill for the Inner Islands and scheduling the assessments for the Outer Islands on the 2013 tax bill, PREVIOUS RELEVANT BOCC ACTION; On September 20, 2006, the BOCC entered into an 11-A with FKAA to administer, plan and develop a regional system for Upper Sugarloaf through S ummerland Keys.
