EMPLOYEE OF THE YEAR
to
MONTILLO DESQUOTiE
Montillo "Scott" Desquotte, Roads & Bridges, Public Works/Engineering
Division, has been employed by Monroe County since August of 1999.
Scott first began his employment with the County as a Maintenance
Worker and within a few months he was promoted to Trustee Coordinator. Upon
obtaining his CDL license in 2001, he promoted to Heavy Equipment Operator,
and since 2005, he has held the position of Foreman.
Scott is a very reliable, hard-working and valuable employee. He is one of
our best equipment operators; his skills and abilities play an integral part in the
successful outcome of day-to-day duties as well as the special projects he
manages and coordinates.
Scott is a charter member of the Key Largo Fire Department Color Guard
and has been active with the upper keys fire departments for approximately 25
years, spending several years as a volunteer in each of the departments at
lslamorada, Tavernier, and presently the Key Largo Fire Department.
On July 1, 2014, Scott saved a baby's life by performing CPR, and his heroic
act has further increased the interest and participation in CPR training.
Scott is an asset to Public Works and Monroe County, and we are
extremely proud to recognize him as Monroe County Employee of the Year for
2014.
