RESOLUTION NO. 309 -2002
A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF MONROE
COUNTY, FLORIDA SELECTING A W ASTEW ATER MANAGEMENT OPTION FOR
CONCH KEY AND DIRECTING THE FKAA TO REQUEST PROPOSALS FOR A ST AND-
ALONE WASTEWATER TREATMENT PLANT ON THE BAY SIDE OF CONCH KEY ON
EXISTING FDOT PROPERTY
WHEREAS, the BOCC at its May 15, 2002 meeting approved having the engineering firm of CH2Mhill
complete a feasibility assessment of two wastewater management options for the FEMA Unmet Needs
Wastewater Project at Conch Key; and
WHEREAS, the two project options were to construct a stand-alone wastewater treatment plan,
collection, and disposal system on Conch Key, or to construct a collection and transmission system on Conch
Key and utilize the existing Hawk's Cay facility for wastewater treatment system; and
WHEREAS, CH2Mhill provided its assessment of project costs and feasibility at the BOCC;s June 20,
2002 meeting; now, therefore
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF MONROE COUNTY,
FLORIDA that:
Section 1. FKAA is requested to advertise for proposals for a stand-alone wastewater
treatment plant on the Bay side of Conch Key on existing FDOT property.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Board of County Commissioners of Monroe County, Florida, at a
regular meeting of said Board held on the 17th day of July, 2002.
