ITEM BACKGROUND: Under FAA guidelines, the airports (Key West and Marathon) have to place the airport consultant Services out to bid approximately every 5 years. In compliance with those guidelines, the County put out an RFQ in March 2011 seeking the services of at least 3 General Consultants, 1 Environmental Consultant, and 1 Financial Consultant. On the bid opening date of May 17,2011, the County was in receive of twelve Statements of Qualifications in response. Eight firms responded regarding General Consulting, three firms responded regarding Environmental Consulting, and two firms responded regarding Financial Consulting. A selection committee met on July 20, 2011. CDM Smith, Inc. was one of the top three firms selected for General Consulting Services.
