RESOLUTION NO. 1998
A RESOLUTION OF THE MONROE COUNTY BOARD OF
COMMISSIONERS (BOCC) AND THE FLORIDA KEYS
AQUEDUCT AUTHORITY (FKAA) ESTABLISHING
AUTHORIZED REPRESENTATIVES FOR SUBMISSION OF A
GRANT APPLICATION TO THE U. S. ENVIRONMENTAL
PROTECTION AGENCY

WHEREAS, it is the desire of the Monroe County Board of ~is@n~
(BOCC) and the Florida Keys Aqueduct Authority (FKAA) to file ~ppl~ti~
for a U.S. Environmental Protection Agency Construction Grant for ~asteWa~
conveyance and treatment project known as the "Little V~~ E.tased
Implementation Plan (Project)," as described in Chapter 17 of th~st9la~
Facilities Plan with Phased Implementation for the Marathon Area ~f tfie ~ri~
Keys (Plan)," prepared by CH2MHill, dated June, 1998; and,
WHEREAS, funding for the Project is provided forin the U.S. EPA section
of the V A-HUD and Independent Agencies 1998 Appropriations Act, (P. L. 105-
65); and,
WHEREAS, the Memorandum of Understanding sets forth the BOCC's
desire to have the FKAA be the Wastewater Authority for the entire
unincorporated area of the Florida Keys; and,
WHEREAS, the State of Florida and the U. S. EP A rules and regulations
that govern this funding program require that the Wastewater Authority designate a
representative for filing said application.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOL VED . BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY
COMMISSIONERS AND THE FLORIDA KEYS AQUEDUCT AUTHORITY,
MONROE COUNTY, FLORIDA THAT:
Monroe County's Administrator, James L. Roberts, and the FKAA's Executive
Director, John T. Doughtry, are designated as each agency's respective
representative for the purpose of filing this application and in taking all appropriate
and necessary actions in support of the application for $4.3 million in grant
funding; and

Upon receipt of the grant offer from the U.S. Environmental Protections Agency
for the Project, the FKAA will review the grant offer and pass an appropriate
resolution for acceptance of the grant offer.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Board of County Commissioners,
