A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF MONROE
COUNTY, FLORIDA, PROVIDING FOR THE REASSIGNMENT OF
MEMBERS TO THE MONROE COUNTY SUBSTANCE ABUSE
POLICY ADVISORY BOARD
WHEREAS, pursuant to F.A.C. 9B-61, the Rule guiding the Drug Control and System
Improvement Formula Grant Program, the Monroe County Board of Commissioners authorized the
designation of an Office of Substance Abuse Policy by Resolution No. 221-1990 and established the
Monroe County Substance Abuse Policy Advisory Board by Resolution No. 279-1990; and
WHEREAS, Resolutions No. 158-1991, No. 129-1993, and No. 229-1994 provided for the
inclusion of additional members; and
WHEREAS, at the May 1, 1998, Substance Abuse Policy Advisory Board meeti~, I1l:!J11btl ~
considered the program's requirements and determined that the composition of the mem~rs~ shcwld 'R;

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF MONRO~T~ ~

1. Resolution No. 279-1990, Section 1; is amended to read: ~ ~ ~' ~
BOARD MEMBERSHIP includes the following as members of the Substance Abu~ Policy 0"\ 0
Advisory Board: according to F,A.C. 9B-61.008, Chief Circuit Judge, State Attorney, Public
Defender, Sheriff, Chief of Police of each municipality or a Chief of Police designated by those
Chiefs of Police as their representative, Jail Administrator, Clerk of the Court, Superintendent of
Education, Representative oflocal drug treatment programs, the Directors of the Community Mental
Health Centers, County Administrator, a representative from Salvation Army Correctional Services,
Director of Pretrial Services, Court Administrator, Department of Corrections Director, or their
designee, and a County Commissioner,
2. Otherwise, all other provisions of Resolution No, 279-1990 remain in effect;
3. Resolutions No. 229-1994, No. 129-1993, and No. 158-1991, are rescinded.
4. This resolution will become effective immediately upon adoption by the Board of County execution
by the Presiding Officer and Clerk.
