ITEM BACKGROUND:
Carol Schreck is deserving of an increase based on her working
mance.
PREVIOUS RELEVANT BOCC ACTION:
12/17/2008: approval of original agreement
12/12/2012: approval of First Amendment, to award a salary increase.
2/19/2014: approval of Second Amendment, to clarify that the employee will participate in and be
eligible for the same increases as other County employees under the Merit Increase Program
7/15/2015: approval of Third Amendment, to add temporarily the duties of administrative assistant
to the Affordable Housing Advisory Committee.
CONTRACT/AGREEMENT CHANGES:
This amendment increases the base salary to $68,000, and amends Exhibit A (job description).

THIS AMENDMENT to agreement dated ___day of December 2016is entered into by and
between the Board ofCounty Commissioners (“Board”or “BOCC”), a political subdivision of the State of
Florida, and Carol Schreck (“Employee”).
WHEREAS, the parties entered into an agreement on December 30,2008(“Agreement”);and
WHEREAS, the parties entered into a first amendment to the Agreement on December 12, 2012
and a second amendment to the Agreement in March 2014; and
WHEREAS, the parties entered into a third amendment in July 2015 in order to add additional
compensation while Ms. Schreck was temporarily performingthe duties of executive assistant to the
affordable housing committee. These duties endedin September 2016 and her pay was reduced to its
prior level without the additional pay; and
WHEREAS, the parties wish to revise the Agreement in order to increase the annual salary to
$68,000.00 per year, to be commensurate with Ms. Schreck’soverall years of working experience (36
years) and education (bachelor’s degree)in addition to exceptional performance, and in order to update
the job description.
NOW, THEREFORE, in consideration of the mutual covenants contained herein the parties agree
to amend the agreement as follows:
The first sentence in Paragraph 3 of the Agreement(“Compensation”)is revised to

In return for the performanceof the duties set forth in Exhibit A, including but not limited to specific
duties assigned by the Commissioner from time to time, Employee shall receive an annual salary
in the amount of $68,000.00.
.Exhibit A in the Agreement is deleted and the job description attached hereto as
7IGXMSR
Exhibit A is substituted in its place and stead.
In all other respects, the remaining provisions of the Agreement dated December 30,

2008, as amended, shall remain in full force and effect.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION
Primary function is to perform specialized office and administrative work withinthe department.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. *Compiles and coordinates BOCC agenda items.
2.*Assists in budget preparation and monitoring expenditures.
3. Compose correspondence for review and signature.
4. Schedules appointments and make travel arrangements for department personnel.
5.Maintains paper and electronic files, copies, scans documents; composes and responds to emails; and
transcribes minutes.
6.Processes invoices, purchase orders, and requests to purchase.
7.*Answer telephone and greet public.
8. Maintain office stock supplies.
9. Conduct research on issues pertinent to the County at the direction of the Commissioner.
10. Other duties as assigned.
