A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY
COMMISSIONERS OF MONROE COUNTY, FLORIDA
DESIGNATING THREE MEMBERS OF THE BOARD OF
COUNTY COMMISSIONERS TO REPRESENT MONROE
COUNTY, FLORIDA ON THE BOARD OF GOVERNORS
OF FIRE AND AMBULANCE DISTRICT 1, MONROE
COUNTY, FLORIDA.
WHEREAS, Section Lb) of Ordinance No. 045 -1988 provides that the Board of
Governors of Fire and Ambulance District 1 shall consist of three members of the Board of
County Commissioners and, if only one city participates, two members of the governing body of
the one city (either Key Colony Beach or the City of Layton); or, if both cities participate, one
member of the governing body from each city; and
WHEREAS, the City of Layton has advised Mayor Norman Anderson, Vice -Mayor
Bruce Halle and Alternate Katie Scott will represent the City of Layton on the Board of
Governors of Fire and Ambulance District 1; and
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners annually designates three
Commissioners as members of the Board of Governors of Fire and Ambulance District 1; and
WHEREAS, it has become necessary for the members of the Board of County
Commissioners to designate three Commissioners as members of the Board of Governors of Fire
and Ambulance District 1 for the year 2017;
WHEREAS, on December 14, 2016, the Board of Governors of Fire and Ambulance
District 1 elected Mayor George Neugent as Chairperson and Mayor Pro Tern David Rice as
Vice - Chairperson; however, the election was not done by resolution as required pursuant to
Ordinance No. 045 -1988; and
WHEREAS, the Board of Governors of Fire and Ambulance District 1 will be presenting
a resolution at its January 18, 2017 meeting officially electing Mayor George Neugent as
Chairperson and Mayor Pro Tern David Rice as Vice - Chairperson; now therefore

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF
MONROE COUNTY, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The following Commissioners are hereby designated by the Board of County
Commissioners as members of the Board of Governors of Fire and
Ambulance District 1 of Monroe County, Florida:
1. George Neugent
2. David Rice
3. Danny Kolhage
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Board of County Commissioners of Monroe County,
Florida at a regular meeting of said Board held on the 18 day of January, 2017.
