Salary increases for 21 employees to bring them to $15.05/hour; 2. Salary increases for 57 employees to account for compression; 3. Establishment of a new pay plan; and 4. Placement of 78 employees into new pay grades; for a total cost of $227,795.84 to be implemented beginning with the 2/5/17 - 2/18/17 pay period. In addition, approval of establishing a minimum $15.00 per hour wage for Firefighters for a total cost of $24,603.91 to be implemented at the beginning of the 02/05/2017 thru 02/18/2017 pay period. ITEM BACKGROUND: The County Commission requested staff develop a minimum salary for county employees beginning at $15 /hour. The Board approved a contract with Evergreen Solutions, LLC, for them to conduct an analysis of the best way to accomplish establishment of that minimum salary, without impacting the employees classified in higher pay grades. The Evergreen recommendations result in: 1. Salary increases for 21 emplovees to brim them to $15.05 /hour: Number of Employees brought to $15.05 /hour Department 6 Card Sound 7 Facilities 4 Nutrition 1 Social Services 2 Veterans 1 Welfare 21 TOTAL 2. Salary increases for 57 employees to account for compression (Pay Grades 105 -114 were impacted): Number of Employees adjusted because of Compression Department 7 Bayshore Manor 2 Building 1 Code Compliance 20 Facilities 1 Higgs 16 In home Service 7 Libraries 2 Solid Waste 1 Transportation 57 TOTAL 3. Establishment of a new pay plan (attached) indicating pay grades from 105 through 133 (previous pay grades were from 100 through 133) 4. Placement of 78 employees into new pay grades. Total cost of solution: $227,795.84 plus $24,603.91 for a total of $252,399.75. No change was made based on the review of supervisors (attached). 5. Firefighter: Hourly rate increase to $15.00 per hour for 22 employees (see attached). PREVIOUS RELEVANT BOCC ACTION: On October 19, 2016 the BOCC approved a revision to section 3.1 in the agreement to extend the project completion date from sixty days of project start date of August 17, 2016 to 154 days with a project end date on January 19, 2017.
