Resolution 194-2015r SOLID WASTE MANAGEMENT RESOLUTION NO. 194 - 2015 A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF MONROE COUNTY, FLORIDA, ADOPTING FINAL RESIDENTIAL SOLID WASTE COLLECTION, DISPOSAL AND RECYCLING RATES FOR THE FISCAL YEAR 2015 -2016. BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF MONROE COUNTY, FLORIDA, as follows: Section 1. The Board hereby adopts the following tentative rates for Collection of Residential Solid Waste: 1. For each single family home - $189.00 per annum; 2. For each mobile home - $189.00 per annum; 3. For each multi- family unit - $189.00 per annum. Section 2. The Board hereby adopts the following tentative rates for Disposal of Residential Solid Waste: 1. For each single family home - $165.00 per annum; 2. For each mobile home - $165.00 per annum; 3. For each multi - family unit - $165.00 per annum. Section 3. The Board hereby adopts the following tentative rates for Recycling of Residential Solid Waste: 1. For each single family home - $50.00 per annum; 2. For each mobile home - $50.00 per annum; 3. For each multi - family unit - $50.00 per annum. Section 4. The Board hereby adopts the following tentative rates for Fiscal Year 2015 -2016: 1. For each single family home - $404.00 per annum; 2. For each mobile home - $404.00 per annum; 3. For each multi - family unit - $404.00 per annum. The public hearing will be held at 5:05 p.m. on September 03, 2015, at The Murray Nelson Government Center, 102050 Overseas Highway, Key Largo, Florida 33070 (Mile Marker 102) for the purpose of receiving. public comment on the proposed assessments. All affected property owners have a right to appear at the hearing and to file written objections with the County Commission within 20 calendar days of the date of this notice. Pursuant to section 286.0105, Florida Statutes, notice is given that if a person decides to appeal any decision made by the County Commission with respect to any matter considered at the hearing, such person will need a record of the proceedings and may need to ensure that a verbatim record is made, including the testimony and evidence upon which the appeal is to be made. In accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act, persons needing a special accommodation or an interpreter to participate in this proceeding should contact the County Administrator at (305) 292 -4441, at least 48 hours prior to the date of the hearing. The total annual solid waste assessment revenue to be collected within Monroe County and the City of Marathon for the upcoming fiscal year is estimated to be $12,990,000. The rate of assessment for the upcoming fiscal year shall be $404.00 per residential dwelling unit. The maximum rate of assessment that can be imposed in the fiscal year commencing October 1, 2015 and future fiscal years shall be $404.00 per residential dwelling unit. Copies of the legal documentation for the assessment program are available for inspection at the County Administrator's office, located at the Gato Building, 2nd Floor, 1100 Simonton Street, Key West, Florida.
