ITEM BACKGROUND: This is a new 5 -year agreement with Thomson Reuters to provide the most current version of WestLaw, an online legal research system for the County Attorney's Office. The use of WestLaw enables the legal staff to competently represent the County in its legal matters and virtually eliminates the need to purchase books to keep the office law library current. This upgrade is geared to provide access to tools designed specifically for a government law practice. A key component of a 5 -year agreement was a cap on increases to 1% per year versus a range 3 to 5% increases for a shorter term.
