Detailed description of change order and justification:
West Construction prepared the site and stormed work for a period of 3 calendar days due to Hurricane Matthew. In
addition, the metal building manufacturer, Star Building, incorrectly designed some of the structural steel above the
hangar doors which caused a delay in the erection of the building. During the metal building erection West identified
the issue. They coordinated with Star Building to determine the extent of the issue. Star Building reengineered
structural components of the metal building above the hangar doors. Revised signed and sealed metal building
drawings and a narrative of the issue was submitted, reviewed and accepted. Star Building then had to manufacture
additional steel and have it shipped to the site. West had to remove the incorrect structural members and erect and
weld the new structural steel. This process caused a 53 calendar day delay in the construction schedule. Therefore,
a time extension of 56 calendar days is required. There is no additional General Conditions or money owed to West
