I ITIATi BACKGROUND: The Department of Environment Protection (DEP) is providing grant funding for the installation of the 3d ranked culvert demonstration prqJect at Canal #472 on Geiger Key. Engineering suppor, during construction of the restoration project is required to ensure that all permit and design criteria are correctly followed by the selected contractor. AMEC was selected to provide these services for the other six (6) demonstration canals through in RFP selection proem. This amendment increases AMEC's existing contract by $21,709.00 to add engineering support services during construction for this canal restoration, funded by the DEP grant S-0723. PREVIOUS RELEVANT BOCC ACTION: I . 12-11-13: Approval to advertise an RFQ for the design and permitting of the canal demo projects. 2. 02-19-13: Approval to negotiate a contract for the design and pern-dtting of the canal demo projects. 3. 05-21-14: Approval of contract with AMEC for design, permitting, field assessment tasks includ' bathymetric. surveys, mangrove assessment, tidal studies for hydraulic modeling and geotexchnic studies; project management and engineering support during construction for six (6) of the sev (7) demonstration canals in unincorporated Monroe County.
