Revised 1/03 Years of Service 15 Years Lisa Cherry Lisa Cherry started with the County in 1987 as a temporary file clerk in the Code Enforcement Office. She was promoted from the temporary position to a Clerk Typist position still within the Code Enforcement Office. The next two promotions took her from Code Enforcement to Employee Benefits and from there to the Office of Management & Budgets. In 1990, she applied for and received a promotion into the Purchasing Office as an Office Assistant. She has progressed steadily in the Purchasing Department. She is currently the Supervisor of Purchasing. She supervises two employees and also has the responsibility of the County's Courier system. The Purchasing Office handles many items to assist all sections of County Government. To name only a sampling of the items they handle, they conducted 66 bid openings, reviewed 53 contracts for purchasing compliance, contacted nearly 1400 vendors with bid information and issued nearly 9000 purchase orders during last fiscal year. The ease with which they handled the volume of work flowing through the Purchasing Section, assists all sections of County Government. Lisa Cherry's dedication to her job is an asset to Management Services and to the Citizens of Monroe County.
