They are as follows: 1, Freemon Justice Center - Change Order No, 36 for an increase of$1,529.33 for card readers with built-in-keypads at the secured entrances/exits in lieu of the card readers without keypads, 2. Tavernier Fire Station - Change Order No, 7 for an increase of$36,993, 60 to add afire alarm system according to the NFPA 101 Life Safety Code requirement, 3, Tavernier Fire Station - Change Order No, 8 for an increase of $48,386,10 for an aerobic treatment unit (ATU), The cost of the ATU required by the Department of health was far more expensive than the allowance of $15,000,00 the Contractor was asked to provide. The original design of the Fire Station did not include a fire alarm system. (Change Order #8 for Overholt Construction Corporation is for $48,386.10). Aerobic Treatment Unit required by the DOH costs more than allowance included in the contract documents. Required system also dictated different property line clearances that necessitated the relocation of the existing generator. According to the ordinance adopted by the Board of County Commissioners, proposed change orders are to be presented to members of the Board of County Commissioners prior to approval, assuming they are within the Administrator's prescribed limits. Change orders not within the Administrator's authority are placed on the BOCC agenda. The Deputy Administrator intends to approve this change order on Thursday, June 28, 2007.
