I have an extensive and comprehensive background and experience as a social
entrepreneur, creating social capital and sustainable cultural programs, and since 1998
focused on the cinematic and visual arts.
From university and academic life as a committed activist, to creating social
enterprises reflecting the cultural currents and community concerns. As a merchant,
marketer, and retailer for lifestyle development. In education as a Walforf School
administrator, and faculty instructor in progressive and advanced health, care disciplines.
To establishing "cultural commons" through cote houses and cafes; as founder and
CEO/Executive Director of the Key West Film Society and Tropic Cinema theater; and
currently as founder and CEO of a community -based media and film program, and even
more recently adding to my portfolio as Executive Director of Paradise Ballet Theatre.
I am committed to supporting and assisting media organizations that are likewise
dedicated to fostering and cultivating the literary arts and the emerging technologies for
film and creating the best cinematic experience for artists and audiences alike. I am
enthusiastic, an articulate, effective and dynamic communicator, creative and
enterprising, able to fulfill the mission with attention to collaboration, building strategic
relationships between presenter and audience. I welcome creative challenges and

of dance company which presents the celebrated Nutcracker ballet with a Key West
tropical motif, and 100 children participating, with leading dancers from New York,
Louisville, Princeton, Burklyn, VT. ballet companies. Heralded as presenting the most
outstanding arts performance in Key West.

Founder, CEO, Executive Director, 501(c) 3 non-profit cinematic arts organization.
• From start up volunteer group, grew to became the largest arts membership
organization in the community; from a weekly screening program and a hundred
supporting members and contributors, expanding to over 3,500 members and
contributors. Leading a capital campaign raising nearly $2,000,000 to build state of
the art cinema, three screen theater, opening April 2004, screening over 3,000 shows
annually, hosting dozens of fund-raisers for community groups, sponsoring arts
programs, seminars, workshops. Over 110,000 tickets sold in first two years, in a
community of 22,000,
• Founder, Key West Film Institute, expanding the KWFS, conducting filmmaking
classes and collaborating with the local community college for credit granting and
adult-ed classes, filmmaking and exhibition.
Awarded Best New Business Award from Chamber of Commerce, 2004. Additional
accolades as the premier arts company and cultural center in the community.

innovative products and services to diverse customer base, from neighborhood residents

center for artists and spawned numerous arts programs and activities.
Award -winning recognition as Best Coffee House in Key West from the Association of
Restaurants and Hospitality, 1999, 99, 2001-2003.

Founder, Owner/Operator of cafe, on island designated as "One of the Last Great Places"
by the Nature Conservancy.
First coffeehouse cafe in the community; winner, Best Coffee House in Rhode Island;
providing full -service cafe offering fresh -baked and prepared foods, beverages and
desserts. Expanded as Internet Cafd, providing computer services; providing musical
entertainment, literary presentations, established The Renaissance Club which created
ongoing cultural arts programs and activities on the Island. Recognized by New York
Times, Providence Journal. Sold in 2003, still in operation.
