ITEM BACKGROUND: Monroe County has embarked on its journey to performance excellence. Mission, Vision and Value Statements were created and adopted to provide the principles that guide us. To further our commitment to the County’s Mission, Vision and Values, the Communications Team held a contest to choose a new Motto and Logo for the performance excellence process. The Team narrowed down twenty (20) submissions to four (4) finalists and voting was conducted by County staff from July 23, 2007 to August 3, 2007. PREVIOUS RELEVANT BOCC ACTION: On May 16, 2006, the County adopted revised Mission, Vision and Value Statements, and on November 15, 2006, the County held the Signing Ceremony to celebrate and proclaim our commitment to Monroe County’s Mission, Vision and Values.
