Other Information:
Rick Freeburg became Chief Executive Officer of Mariners Hospital in Tavernier, Florida, in January
2010. Mr. Freeburg holds a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Miami
and a Bachelor of Science from Principia College in Illinois.
He started his career in health-care at Doctors Hospital in 1987 as Vice President of Administration.
In 1994, he began his tenure at South Miami Hospital as Vice President of Human Resources, was
promoted to Vice President of Operations and then to Chief Operating Officer.
A native Miamian, he was actively involved in Miami community and business organizations. He
served on the Board of Directors of the Special Olympics, the former City of South Miami Pension
Board and the University Baptist Church. He was also a member of the 200 Club, an organization
providing funds to families of police/fire fighters killed while on duty, as well as on the Boy Scouts
Eagle Scout Review Committee.
