Artists’ works in the Key West International Airport Terminal for sale on a commission basis
ITEM BACKGROUND:
Kennedy Seaport Gallery is a tenant in the Departure Area of the
terminal. We would like to support Local Artists by displaying their works for sale in the terminal.
The Gallery would charge a fee of 20% to display and handle the sale. Half of that 20% (10% of the
total sale) would be split between the Airport (5%) and the Art in Public Places Committee (5%).
This was presented to the Art in Public Places Committee at their regular meeting on December
6, 2010. They did not oppose it, but felt that they did not have the legal authority to approve the
concept.
