On June 6 we received bids to rebuild the aprons for Taxi Lanes, A9, A10, and A11. Bella Construction bid $23,645 per taxi lane apron, and Toppino bid $18,000 each. We accepted Toppino’s low bid and they have completed one of the three aprons. Last month the BOCC approved an agreement to settle a Toppino $72,588 debt on the new terminal for 12,098 yards of surplus dirt valued at $6.00 per yard. The Toppino firm now requests that we barter all of the taxi lane work (3X $18,000=$54,000) at the same $6.00 per yard price so that they can obtain an additional 9,000 yards of our surplus fill left over from the RSA project.
