Joe began his career with Monroe County in the Facilities Maintenance department in January
1998; he was promoted to Construction Inspector in the Engineering Department in August 2000
and in September 2005 he was promoted again to Supervisor of Construction Inspection.
Joe is responsible for ensuring that all construction on county roads, whether by a private
standards and Construction standards. In this role he has overseen many county
paving projects and has worked on the various sewer construction projects from Stock Island to
Key Largo.
Joe represents the County to the public when dealing with questions or problems that arise on
County roads and rights of way. His personnel file contains numerous letters from residents
praising and thanking Joe for his timely, professional assistance in resolving complaints and
problems.
Over the years Joe has worked with contractors to gain their voluntary compliance with county
procedures in an effort to reduce unpermitted and improper work on County rights-of-way. He is
addressing right of way and construction issues. He is an asset to the Engineering Department
and to Monroe County.
