After holding several positions within the library system including Library Administrator, in early 2000, she was appointed as the Director of Libraries of which she holds today; managing five branches of the County library that has its own distinct character and needs. She is an excellent communicator and supporter of the Library Advisory Board and the Friends of the Library. Her excellent people skills allow her to interact with all of whom she comes in contact with in a professional manner. Norma was successful in the award of $67,000 from the State Aid to Libraries Grant this past year. She also continues to work towards e-rate discounts for Library communications. Being a huge part of our library system for 30 years, Norma has seen many changes within the system such as providing internet access to the public and the implementation and usage of our digital collection of e-books and e-audio books which keeps increasing. The historic photographic collection also continues to grow as does the viewing of them. Towards the end of last year, they received 5 million hits to this site alone. Monroe County is extremely lucky to be able to celebrate Norma's 30 years of service to all of us!
