AGENDA ITEM WORDING: Approval to implement a Long Term Parking Policy at the Florida
Keys Marathon International Airport to assess a fee for vehicles parking in the Main Terminal
parking lot for 30 consecutive days or longer, in the amount of $100.00 per vehicle per month.
ITEM BACKGROUND: Public parking at the Florida Keys Marathon Int'l Airport is currently
free of charge to the public. The only existing requirement for customers is to register their vehicle
with Airport Administration if they intend to park a vehicle for 30 days or longer. In order to
increase Airport revenue, this policy will require that customers parking for 30 days or longer are
required to pay a monthly fee of $100 per month, per vehicle.

TO: Owners of long term parked vehicles at Marathon Airport
DATE: July 19, 2017
SUBJECT: Long Term Parking Policy
Effective September 1, 2017, rates and charges apply to long term parking of
vehicles at The Florida Keys Marathon International Airport - Main Terminal
Parking Lot.
Long Term Parking Requirements
• If a customer plans to park at the Airport long term (for a period of 30 days or longer), they
must register their vehicle with the Airport Administration Office and provide all necessary
information. Required information includes but is not limited to:
• Vehicle make, model, year, and license plate number, and copies of insurance's and
registration.
• Owner contact information, including phone, email, and mailing address.
• Vehicles that are parked in the lot must meet the following requirements:
• Parking spaces may only be used for vehicles. No trailers, storage containers, or
equipment is permitted.
• Vehicles must be running and in good working condition.
• Vehicles must have current insurance and registration, and must,', be presented to
Airport staff upon', request..
• A current license plate must be displayed.
• Long term vehicles will be required to park in designated spaces as assigned by the Airport.
Parking Rate and Payment Methods
• Long term vehicles will be charged at the rate of $100 per month. Payment will be submitted
to the Airport Administration Office.
• Payment for long term parking must be submitted to the Airport Admin. Office in
advance.
• Acceptable methods of payment include checks and money orders payable to Monroe
County Board of County Commissioners.
• Parking fees are not refundable.
Consequences of Non - Compliance
Customers are responsible for registering their long term vehicle with the Airport.
Airport Staff will take a periodic inventory of the parking lot to monitor long term vehicles.
Unregistered long term vehicles are subject to being removed from the Airport per the terms
of the Airport Towing Procedure, and owners are responsible for all towing, storage, and
other costs.
Release of Liability
Parking at the The Florida Keys Marathon International Airport is at the owner's risk. Any
vehicles or personal property placed in the premises of the Airport shall be at the sole risk of
the owner. The County will not be liable for any loss or damage, including damage caused
by the removal of unauthorized vehicles.
