ITEM BACKGROUND: Jane Muir - Isherwood, Criminal Court Services Coordinator for the 16` Judicial Circuit, currently serves on the South Florida Behavioral Health Network, Inc. ( SFBHN) board of directors and will be retiring soon and therefore resigning from her position. It is essential for Monroe County to continue to have proper representation on the SFBHN board and thus Elizabeth `Betsy" Langan, Clinical Supervisor and Treatment Manager for Drug Court for the 16` Judicial Circuit, is being recommended as the replacement appointment on the SFBHN board of directors. The appointment is made by the SFBHN nominating committee and is approved by vote of the SFBHN board of directors. John W. Dow, SFBHN President and Chief Executive Officer has recommended that the BOCC recommend an appointment to replace Jane Muir - Isherwood upon her resignation. The South Florida Behavioral Health Network, Inc. ( SFBHN) is the Managing Entity for Miami -Dade and Monroe County and is under contract with the Department of Children and Families (DCF) to manage the day -to -day operational delivery of behavioral health services and oversee funding designated by the state of Florida to help individuals in need of behavioral health care. WHEREAS, the South Florida Behavioral Health Network, Inc.
