ITEM BACKGROUND: On October 13, 2016, the airport received a Commercial Airline Application to operate scheduled passenger flights from EYW starting on December 16, 2016. United has proposed using a 70 -seat Embraer 170 regional jet with daily departures to Newark (EWR) and Saturday only flights to Chicago (ORD — starting January 7, 2017). The airline will operate on a month to month tenancy and will be billed in accordance with the Airline Rates and Charges schedule, upon completion of the BOCC approved Air Service Development Incentive Program. PREVIOUS RELEVANT BOCC ACTION: On August 17, 2016 the BOCC gave approval for United Airlines to operate at EYW and approval of the EYW Air Service Development Incentive Program 2016 -1. The EWR flights run from December 16 through May 4 with one flight per day. A Saturday flight to ORD would start January 7 and run through April 29. Both flights will be on 70 -seat Embraer 170 regional jets. United would be the only airline to offer nonstop flights between Key West and its hubs in Chicago and Newark/New York. 3 a { 2 Background Information Available upon request 3 Facilities Requirements Following a preliminary site visit in September 21, 2016, United has determined the airport facility meets requirements necessary to support the proposed service defined in section 1 above.
