ITEM BACKGROUND:
The current contract expires January 21, 2017. Notice of Request for
th
Proposals will be advertised in local newspapers on November 30, 2016 and December 2, 2016.
The Purchasing Office will open sealed responses for the gasoline and diesel fuel supplier contract
on January 18, 2016. A month to month extension is necessary to ensure uninterrupted supply while
the proposals are reviewed and the new contract finalized for BOCC approval.
PREVIOUS RELEVANT BOCC ACTION:
On January 16, 2014 the Board authorized execution
of the current contract with Dion Oil Company, LLC. The Board also approved and Addendum to
the agreement on June 11, 2014, and two (2) renewals on 11/19/2014 and 11/17/2015. On February
16, 2016, the County received a notice from Dion Oil Company that the company had been sold to
Dion Fuels, LLC. On March 23, 2016 The Board approved a Consent to Assignment between
Monroe County and Dion Fuels, LLC. The Assignment was made effective retroactively to
February 23, 2016.
