AGENDA ITEM WORDING:
Authorization to enter into Amendment #1 to the contract with
Douglas N. Higgins, Inc. for installation of a culvert on Canal #277 to remove the list of
subcontractors from the contract. The contract value remains unchanged.
ITEM BACKGROUND:
The contract for Douglas N. Higgins, Inc. was approved in January 20, 2016, which contained a
listing of the subcontractors. The County desires to remove the list of subcontractors to allow the
Contractor flexibility in selecting subcontractors, and still ensuring that the CONTRACTOR is
responsible for all work related and included in the Contract Documents.
PREVIOUS RELEVANT BOCC ACTION:
September 16, 2015 - Approval to advertise the RFP.
January 20, 2016 - Approval to enter into a contract with Douglas N. Higgins, Inc. for installation of
Culvert at Canal #277 Tropical Bay Estates, Big Pine Key.
