Approval of General and Professional Liability Insurance policy
with Colony Insurance Company for Bayshore Manor and for the Risk Administrator to sign all
necessary forms.
ITEM BACKGROUND: Coverage is for General and Professional Liability and Wrongful
Acts/Vicarious Liability coverage for the County as required to maintain State of Florida Assisted
Living Facility License and also covers claims alleging sexual and/or physical abuse. A limited
number of insurers offer this unique coverage. The current policy premium plus fees was
$12,955.63. The recommended quote and renewal policy has no fees and a premium of $14,576.00.

Despite the fact that Hiscox Insurance Company has proposed a lower premium, their coverage
not be subject to any deductible. In addition, it is not certain if Hiscox will continue offering the
lower premium in future years.
