Grant funds 50% matching up to a total award amount of $500,000.00. ITEM BACKGROUND: The Old Tavernier School is a Historic Building in the Upper Keys, developed by Franklin D. Roosevelt's New Deal and Workers Progress Administration during the great depression. The Tavernier School has been modernized multiple times over the years to accommodate for various uses, but most of the historic fabric remains including original doors, and windows. Total grant award is no more than $500,000.00 with 50% county matching funds (all together $1,000,000.00) PREVIOUS RELEVANT BOCC ACTION: On October 18, 2006 the Board of County Commissioners approved a contract revision for the redevelopment of the Old Tavernier School with K2M Design for design of renovations for the purposes of a Community Meeting Hall. Section 4: This Resolution shall become effective upon adoption.
