Approval of SunGard contract amendment to add an Application
Programming Interface (API) to allow the Integrated Voice Response (IVR) system to read/write
permit fee information to/from the CommunityPLUS permitting system.
ITEM BACKGROUND:
The Building Department IVR system allows the public to call in inspection requests and
automatically upload those requests into our CommunityPLUS SunGard application to produce daily
inspection workload for the inspectors. Additionally the IVR allows inspectors to result inspections
while on site. A new feature will allow the IVR system to pull fees due on a permit to alert the
customer, when calling to schedule an inspection, that payment of these fees is required. To do this,
we must purchase an API that allows the communication of data between the IVR and
CommunityPLUS. SunGard is the only vendor able to provide this software to be compatible with
SunGard will provide to County the software including licenses, installation and remote training as
noted in attached documentation.
