0 Wrote a new company web property in Ruby on Rails: a lead
generation tool for finding professional photographers. Included secure
credit card storage and management. Release management was done
via Capistrano.
0 Wrote the company's Facebook integration allowing users to upload
once to MyPhotoAlbum.corn or PolaroidStudio.com, then choose photos
to publish to their Facebook albums. This was very popular with our
customers.
0 Modified and maintained large PHP code bases: OSCommerce, Menalto
Gallery, and later the assets of Photrade.com (a professional photo
sharing site).
0 Wrote and maintained a set of recursive, interprocess control scripts to
maintain data integrity between 10OTB of image files, their associated
flat files, and millions of database rows. This helped the company keep
storage costs down by locating orphaned and undeleted files still on
the filesystem.
0 Designed, maintained and oversaw further development on the
company's order fulfillment system, written in 00 Perl; this ran under
cron and managed image files, database information and flat files on
our end and transmitted orders to vendors in XML or FTP and received
status updates from them. Vendors included Kodak, District Photo,
EZPrints and many more. A flexible design enabled the company to
switch fulfillment vendors on multiple occasions with very short notice.

0 Developed ISP/servlet systems to interface with the vendor's
CORBA-based provisioning system for customer sign up and product
purchasing.
0 Designed serviet based system to authenticate customers from the
enterprise system to a mod—perl based customer support system
0 Developed lava and Python to interface with DB2 and LDAP for report
generation, application code generation and scripting of the enterprise
system.
0 Data migration from Oracle, LDAP, and DB2 to ySQL in two separate

Forbes.com building a content management system for the new version of
the web site.
* Web Engineer for the New York Times Digital, February 1998 to April 2000,
New York City. Responsibilities included Perl coding and maintenance on the
house content management system for the editorial staff, Unix systems
administration, working on a four -person team customizing an XML based
content management system. Introduced Wikis to the NYTD.
* Programmer for Cleveland Live (Cleveland.com), September 1996 - February
1998, Cleveland, Ohio. Responsible for CGI scripting and site design in Perl,
C, C++, 3avascript and PHP. Sites included the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame
(rockhall.com).
