AGENDA ITEM WORDING:
Approval of a Task Order in the amount of $20,010 with HDR
Engineering, Inc. to provide negotiation support during negotiations with Transcore and Florida
Turnpike Enterprise (FTE) for the Card Sound Toll conversion to electronic tolling. Transcore will
be providing electronic toll collection system and equipment while FTE will provide tolling
conversion and transaction processing. This task order is being awarded under the On-Call contract
for Professional Services.
ITEM BACKGROUND:
The County has been evaluating automating the Card Sound Toll
Authority to upgrade to an All Electronic Toll Facility (AET) system. Through a previous task order,
HDR Engineering, Inc. evaluated electronic toll service providers. It was determined that entering
into agreements with Transcore for system design and equipment and FTE for implementation and
processing services would be advantageous since these entities have provided these services to
multiple FL tolling agencies that have converted to all electronic tolling.
