Approval of a Second Amendment to Contract for Professional
Services with Currie Sowards Aguila Architects for the County Public Works Offices on Magnolia
Street.
ITEM BACKGROUND:
complete with a final construction cost of $1,258,161.97. The Contract requires
fee for professional services be adjusted when the actual construction cost is known. After
deductions due to errors and omission, a construction cost of $1,235,222.96 was used to calculate the
final additional fee amount owed of $54,399.75. This amendment adjusts the fee at 8.63% of actual
costs in accordance to the State of Florida Guidelines.
PREVIOUS RELEVANT BOCC ACTION:
On January 20, 2010, the BOCC approved a
continuing contract with Currie Sowards Aguila Architects (CSA) pursuant to Florida Statute
287.055(2) (g). On November 20, 2013 the continuing contract was renewed effective January 20,
2014 and terminating on January 19, 2015. On November 20, 2013 the BOCC approved a contract
for the design through construction administration of the renovation of the Magnolia Street
Recycling Center for the purposes of relocating the Upper Keys Public Works Division. On
December 10, 2014 the BOCC approved an amendment to the continuing contract for the purpose of
completing active projects which included the Public Works Magnolia Street project, and on July 16,
2014 the BOCC approved a First Amendment to the Contract for design services of Magnolia Street
complete.
CONTRACT/AGREEMENT CHANGES:
Increase in Architect's fee.
