The policy also provides for reimbursement percentage of legal fees provides coverage consistent with chapter 440, Florida Statutes. The cost of the County's Excess Workers' Compensation coverage may vary slightly when the County's Experience Modification Factor is issued. The effective date of the County's Modification Factor will be 10/1/16 and is a critical element of any Workers' Compensation premium. PREVIOUS RELEVANT BOCC ACTION: Coverage was previously bid in 2014. The BOCC approved the last renewal with FMIT on September 16, 2015. CONTRACT/AGREEMENT CHANGES: FMIT has proposed to renew the 2016-2017 program for an annual premium of $630,616.00. FMIT proposed a premium increase of $34,231.00 (5.74%) attributable to the County's payroll increase from $68,835,326.00 to $74,406,077.00. This is an increase of $5,570,751.00 (8.09%). STAFF RECOMMENDATION: Approval to accept proposal from Florida League of Cities at a cost of $630,616.00. To be paid in quarterly installments for the period of October 1, 2016 to September 30, 2017. This is an increase of $34,231.00 (5.74%).
