Approval of Resolution waiving Section 7.01(c)(1) of the
Personnel Policies and Procedures Manual (annual leave earned in excess of 320 hours leave
balance) for Card Sound Road Toll Authority employees contingent upon prior written approval of
Department Head and Assistant County Administrator on a case-by-case basis.
ITEM BACKGROUND:
Monroe County will be converting the Card Sound Road toll booth from
manual money collection to automated toll collection sometime between April and August 2017,
after which, the current toll collector positions will be phased out. It is anticipated that current
employees may begin leaving their positions early for new jobs which may necessitate any
remaining employees to continue working without taking annual leave in order to keep the toll booth
manned.
