AGENDA ITEM WORDING:
Approval of Second Amendment to current agreement with Capitol
Group, Inc. (Robert Reyes) to retroactively extend that agreement through September 30, 2016, for
continuing strategic governmental consulting and lobbying services on behalf of Monroe County in
the legislative and executive branches of State Government.
ITEM BACKGROUND:
Previous contract amendment expired July 19, 2016; the amendment
brings the current contract through September 30, 2016. We will execute a new annual contract with
Capitol Group, Inc. beginning October 1, 2016 that includes stronger conflict of interest language.
(That contract is also
representation/lobbying/advocacy in the legislative and executive branches of State Government.
PREVIOUS RELEVANT BOCC ACTION:

On July 15, 2016, the BOCC approved First Amendment to Professional Services
Agreement for one year.

On January 21, 2015, the BOCC approved Consent to Assignment of Professional Services
Agreement from Floridian Partners, LLC to Capitol Group, Inc.

On July 16, 2014, the BOCC approved Professional Services Agreement with Floridian
Partners, LLC for one year.
CONTRACT/AGREEMENT CHANGES:
This amendment extends the termination date of the existing contract with the lobbying firm of
Capitol Group, LLC (Robert Reyes) through September 30, 2016.
