AGENDA ITEM WORDING: Approval of Amendment 5 to Agreement with Buccaneer Courier
to provide for an annual CPI -U adjustment of 2.1 % effective March 16, 2018.
ITEM BACKGROUND: The existing contract allows for the County to adjust the contract amount
annually in accordance with the percentage change in the Consumer Price Index for all urban
consumers (CPI -U) for the most recent twelve (12) months available. The County exercises the
option to amend the agreement and adjust in accordance annually with the percentage change in the
U.S. Department of Commerce Consumer Price Index (CPI -U) ending December 31 of 2.1 %.
PREVIOUS RELEVANT BOCC ACTION:
On March 15th, 2017 the BOCC granted approval for the First Renewal and Amendment 4 to the
Agreement extending the agreement to March 15, 2019 and also adjusted the contract amount in
accordance with the U.S. Department of Commerce Consumer Price Index for all Urban Consumers
(CPI -U).
On November 22nd, 2016 the BOCC granted approval of Addendum No. 3 to add one additional
delivery for the Public Works and Engineering, 300 Magnolia, Key Largo 431.
On August 16th, 2016 the BOCC granted approval of Addendum No. 2 to remove one delivery for
the Department of Health, Roosevelt Sands Center, Key West 42B.
On July 20th, 2016 the BOCC granted approval of Addendum No. 1 to add one additional delivery
for the Tax Collector on Big Pine Key 41 OC.
On March 18th, 2015 the BOCC granted approval to award bid and authorized execution of a two
(2) year contract with an option to renew for two (2) additional two (2) year periods.

COURIER SERVICE AGREEMENT
ADDENDUM NO. 5
THIS ADDENDUM is entered into this 19 day of April, 2018, between the Monroe County
Board of County Commissioners (COUNTY) and Buccaneer Courier (Buccaneer) :
WHEREAS, on March 18 2015, the parties entered into a two (2) year agreement for
courier services for Monroe County, commencing on the March 16, 2015 and ending March
15, 2017( Agreement); and
WHEREAS, the Agreement was amended by Addendum 1 to add an additional delivery and
pick -up for the Tax Collector at 201 Key Deer Blvd. Unit 416, Big Pine Key; by Addendum 2
to remove a delivery and pick for the Department of Health, at Roosevelt Sands Center on
Olivia Street, Key West and by Addendum 3 to add an additional delivery and pick -up for the
Public Works and Engineering Departments at 300 Magnolia Street, Key Largo; and
WHEREAS, the First Renewal and Amendment 4 to the Agreement dated March 15, 2017
extended the agreement to March 15, 2019 and also adjusted the contract amount in
accordance with the U.S. Department of Commerce Consumer Price Index for all Urban
Consumers (CPI -U); and
WHEREAS, the Agreement provides for an annual CPI adjustment which will be applied;
NOW, THEREFORE, IN CONSIDERATION of the mutual promises contained herein, the
parties hereby agree to amend the Agreement as follows:
In accordance with Paragraph 1.04(B.) of the Agreement, the County hereby adjusts
the contract amount in accordance with the percentage change in the U.S. Department
of Commerce Consumer Price Index (CPI -U) for all Urban Consumers as reported by
the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics for the most recent twelve months available ending
December 31 of 2.1 %.
2. This CPI -U adjustment shall be retroactively approved to March 16, 2018.
3. In all other respects, the Agreement dated March 18, 2015, as amended, shall remain
in full force and effect.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, the parties hereto have caused these presents to be executed in
their respective names.
