AGENDA ITEM WORDING: Approval to advertise any required solicitations or proposals for
repairs, work, or services resulting from damage to County facilities as a result of Hurricane Irma
and authorization to proceed with such repairs, work, and services.
ITEM BACKGROUND: To comply with Monroe County Purchasing Policy Chapter 7 (D) in
responding to emergency repairs after Hurricane Irma in September 2017, staff wishes to establish
an "approval to advertise date" to continue the required solicitations, for all emergency repairs that
continue to be discovered and repaired without further delay.
There are some repair projects currently known that need approval to advertise such as the fence
repairs at Big Pine Key Park and roof repairs at the Islamorada and Key Largo Libraries.
