RESOLUTION NO. 260 -2018
A RESOLUTION BY THE MONROE COUNTY BOARD OF COUNTY
COMMISSIONERS AUTHORIZING THE RENAMING OF 2 STREET TO
PARK AVENUE IN THE SUBDIVISION OF OCEAN PARK VILLAGE PLAT
BOOK 4 PAGE 14 IN KEY LARGO AND DIRECTING STAFF TO ERECT
SIGNAGE TO REFLECT THE RENAMING OF THE ROAD TO PARK AVENUE
WHEREAS, Florida Statute 336.05 authorizes the Monroe County Board of County
Commissioners to name streets and roads; and
WHEREAS, Florida Statute 336.08 authorizes the Monroe County Board of County
Commissioners to establish, locate, change or discontinue public county roads by resolution; and
WHEREAS, 2 Street, located in the Ocean Park Village subdivision Plat Book 4 page 14 in Key
Largo, has been known and commonly referred to as Park Avenue and is also recognized by the United
States Postal Service and GIS database as Park Avenue; and
WHEREAS, there is no known record of a formal resolution renaming the road from 2 " Street to
Park Avenue; and
WHEREAS, in order to effectuate the renaming, staff is requesting passage of this resolution to
approve the renaming of the road to conform to the GIS database, which is the resource used by the
post office and emergency services, and authorize for signage to be erected in the name of Park Avenue;
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF MONROE
COUNTY, FLORIDA that the Monroe County Board of County Commissioners shall hereby:
1. Rename and recognize Park Avenue as the street name for which was previously platted as 2nd
Street; and
2. To erect street signage in the name of Park Avenue;
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Board of County Commissioners of Monroe County, Florida, at a
regular meeting held on the 19 day of September, 2018.
