PREVIOUS RELEVANT BOCC ACTION: On September 8, 1999, the Board of County
Commissioners passed Ordinance No. 038 -1999 providing for the appointment of "At Large"
members to the TDC District Advisory committees by the Board of County Commissioners.

This position was advertised due to the resignation of DAC III Member, Dr. Daniel Zieg

"At Large" representative — Any resident who is not directly involved in a tourism
business and who shall represent the general public and shall live or work within
the tax collection district for which they are applying. (The operative word within

whose business or economic activity are dependent upon tourists).

I am an integral part of the Marathon commune y, Both at wor
and leisure. Participation and sponsorship of community events such as Relay
or Life, The Celtic Festival and Battle in the Bay - -Dragon Boat Races are
important to me as they bring Marathon together. Asa business owner
in Marathon I have insight into the local climate and opinions of residents and
experience the effects of tourism and growth on a daily basis. Although ours
is not a tourism based busi ness, most of our clients depend on the tourism
industry. Since the Marathon Veterinary Hospital employs over 35 people
I have a vested interest in helping tourism grow to maintain a strong economy.

Sorry that I put the wrong application type down.
At Brutus Seafood we would be able to exist and pay our bills without the presence of tourist. The original
owners are born and raised here and had built up a large local following which I've been able to maintain. I
would say that 70% of my business is local. I did look at receipts from today and out of every ten tables it was
averaging that 7 were Iocals.
