AGENDA ITEM WORDING: A public hearing to consider approval an ordinance to revise
Monroe County Code Section 18 -27(h) to increase the fee for use of the boat ramp at Harry Harris
Park to $30 per watercraft trailer by non - county residents on Federal holidays, weekends, and the
two days of lobster mini - season.
ITEM BACKGROUND: The boat launch fee at Harry Harris Park has been the same for a decade
or more. Local fees at commercial ramps in the area now range from $20 -$30 /vessel. The County's
park expenses have increased over the years and a second employee has been added to work the boat
ramp during peak periods. The County's fees should mirror the local businesses' fees to avoid
undercutting the local businesses. The fees will not be charged to County residents with proof of
residency.

Founders' Park: $30
Mangrove Marina: $30
Caribbean Club: $20
