They have decided to take Spoonbill Lane as the replacement for Seagull. I trust that now that we have all 4 lanes renamed as per the residents selection and that the county can proceed in their decision process. Please let me know the results of the February meeting. Thanks for your help. Regards, David P.S. Am I correct in guessing that your first name is Beth? I will make the change now, and you can poll the residents in the meantime, since the item won't be heard until February 16th. Hopefully the majority of the residents will be happy with Catbird Lane, but if for some reason they reject that name and want a different name, we can request a change at the meeting. Anyhow, I will forward the agenda item and Resolution to you as soon as it is completed, but the Resolution includes standard language that the County Clerk is to send certified copies of the Resolution to various County depts. (Public Works, Engineering, Growth Mgmt., etc.) and other agencies (sheriff, Fire Dept., Postmaster, Tax Collector, Property Appraiser, etc.), so those agencies are aware of the changes once approved, and the Road Dept. will make and install new street signs shortly thereafter. am From: KM &DW Mead [mailto:kedwmead @yahoo.com] Sent: Wednesday, February 02, 201112:28 PM To: Leto -Beth Subject: Re: street names Leto -Beth, If I missed Sea Gull lane on your street name list I'm sorry. I will offer the name Catbird Lane as a replacement however I have not sought approval from the residents of 2nd lane for this replacement. At this point and time it seems more important to provide you with a replacement name now instead of my going through the process of polling the residents . The most important thing in my mind is the exercise of eliminating the confusion that currently exists with the duplication of street names. I hope this is satisfactory to you and Monroe County. While we are corresponding I would appreciate an answer from you or Dent Pierce to the few questions I asked in my email of Jan. 17 regarding responsibilities of changing county documents ect. if the name changes were to be made. Please check the email for the specific questions. Thanks again for your help and let me know if I can be of any further assistance. If you really knew how computer challenged I am you would know how hard I am really working. After speaking with the majority of the residents who live on the four lanes in question, and that voiced their desire to have the lane numbers changed to names , I am going to give you ,as per your request, the lane names as I received them. Please be advised that I did not poll the residents who did not wish to see the lane numbers changed to names for obvious reasons. Also, as a reminder to you I did not poll every resident as I stated in my email dated Dec. 6,2010 for the following requested names (same reason as Dec.6th email). For 1st lane the name is Cardinal Lane, 2nd lane is Sea Gull Lane, 3rd lane is Egret Lane and 4th lane is Blue Heron Lane.1 have checked these names against the list of street names I received from Leto -Beth and do not see any conflicts or duplications. Please feel free to check my checking. The residents that wish to see the changes in place have a question that I hope you can answer. As we expect, assuming the changes take place we the residents will be responsible for advising our correspondents i.e. friends, banks, all businesses, ect of our address change. But who handles any county or possibly state changes such as tax bills, property deeds, land or vehicle titles, Key Largo post office or things of that nature ? We are obviously thinking Monroe County since it is the goverment that is making the change .Correct ? I believe my work here is now finished. Unless I can be of further service I will wait for your approval of the proposed name changes, and your answer to our question. Also we would appreciate it if you could advise me of your (Monroe Countys' )next step and a walk thru of the entire process with a estimated time frame for completion. Thanks again for both of your help.
