RESOLUTION NO. 106 -1997
A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF
MONROE COUNTY, FLORIDA. IN RECOGNITION OF THE LATE
CLAYTON E. MCDANIEL
WHEREAS, Clayton E. McDaniel. a resident of the City of Key West since 1974, has passed
away at the age of 80; and
WHEREAS, Mr. McDaniel was active in the real estate trade from the time of his arrival in Key
West. selling 52 houses in the first 52 weeks, and is remembered most notably for selling the Pier House
property; and
WHEREAS, Mr. McDaniel was a senior member of Prudential Knight Realty, and loved and
admired by everyone on the Board of Realtors
WHEREAS, Mr. McDaniel was one of the early advocates of historic renovation, and was an
active member of the Old Island Restoration Foundation and a life member of the Art and Historical
Society; NOW THEREFORE
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF MONROE COUNTY, FLORIDA
that
Section 1. The Board hereby adopts this Resolution as evidence of its regret and
mourning for the passing of the late Clayton E. McDaniel and in recognition of his dedication and
public service to the people of Key West and Monroe County, Florida.
Section 2. The Board hereby requests the Clerk to forward copies of this Resolution to Mr.
McDaniel's longtime partner, Fred Cole, to express the Board's sorrow.
